Welcome to the New Office Administrator Minimize

On Monday, November 30, Diane Lunsford began her work as the Office Administrator of the Presbytery, succeeding Margaret Bolt whose last day in the office is Tuesday, December 8th.

For more than twenty years, Diane served as the Administrative Assistant for West Virginia Public Broadcasting Authority.  She came to us from her employment at the University Computing Department of the University of Charleston.  Earlier in her career, she served as the church secretary in Methodist Churches in Charlton Heights and Glen Ferris.

She has supervisory experience as well as administrative skills which equip her for our position.  She was eager to join us the week of our presbytery meeting in order to be present in the office as we prepared for the meeting and to be present at Presbytery at First Church, Charleston.  She has hit the ground running and seems to be at ease with the manner in which she is being oriented to the work she has come to do.  Margaret Bolt has given careful attention in this time of transition and has provided “on the job training” to Diane.  Margaret commends her as a competent, able successor and a quick student of the myriad responsibilities assigned to her position.

As Office Administrator, she will be accountable to the Executive Presbyter and to the Presbytery through the Personnel and Administration Committee.  Her duties include supervising the non-exempt staff, oversight and administration of all general office activity.  She will serve as support staff to the Presbytery Council, the Committee on Ministry, the Committee on Preparation for Ministry, the Stated Clerk and the Self-Development of People Committee

Diane is a native West Virginian.  Her adult children live near-by and she anticipates becoming a first-time grandmother in early 2010 (both daughters are expecting!)

We bid Margaret farewell with much appreciation for her gifts and talents shared over these past years.  We will miss her but understand the circumstances that lure her to Morgantown.  We wish for Margaret and John the blessings of abundant health, great happiness and much joy in the days to come, especially as they enter the world of grand-parenting!!!

We greet Diane with gladness as she joins our staff team and as she serves us in the days to come.  Welcome her and extend the generous hospitality of WVP as you visit or call the office or attend meetings!  She is eager to know you as friend and colleague in ministry.
