Festival of Faith will be a VIRTUAL event this year, held on August 29. Rather than meeting in person with the uncertainty that goes with it in this time, we will be meeting by Zoom, which gives us the opportunity to see and interact with each other, whether by video or phone. We will follow the original schedule as much as possible, although now you don’t have to travel to Charleston, and you can join in your pajamas or workout clothes or whatever you desire to wear. And you don’t have to worry about whether you’ll like lunch or not, as you’ll be fixing your own.

Jill Duffield, Editor of The Presbyterian Outlook, will be our Keynote Presenter and lead an hour-long workshop twice. In addition, most of the original workshops will be offered online as well; there will be five options each in the A, B and C workshops, in addition to the two D workshops. We have, however, cancelled the following workshops: 1) “Beyond the Food Pantry,” as it was a hands-on workshop; 2) “Hosting our Kenyan Siblings,” as their visit has been postponed to 2022; and 3) PCUSA curriculum, as most churches will by that date have chosen their curriculum for the year, though Susan Sharp Campbell will be in touch with those who have registered to assist them individually.

The cost for this (still) day-long event will be FREE – no cost except for your time. Those who have previously paid and asked that their money be held for this rescheduled event will receive their money back in the coming weeks.

Registration information has been sent to the presbytery’s newsletter list and those who registered for the original March event. While those who have already registered have the option to stick with the workshops they already chose, they also have the option to change their minds and register again.

Early Registration Deadline is Thursday, August 13.  This will give us time to notify leaders of how many people to expect in their workshops. It will also help us determine whether any workshops will be cancelled due to lack of interest. Registrations will still be taken up until the final deadline of Wednesday, August 26. The Zoom link and call-in numbers have to be shared in advance, so we cannot accept any registrations after the 26th.

Finally, mark this event on your calendars now! If you have any questions, please contact Susan Sharp Campbell at 304-645-4568 or susan_sharp_campbell@hotmail.com. We hope to see or hear you on Zoom on August 29 and to see you again in person in 2021.
