First Presbyterian Church of St. Albans will mark its 150th anniversary with a fun-and-faith-filled family celebration at the church, 201 Kanawha Terr., the weekend of August 18-19. Everyone is invited, regardless of your faith. 

On Saturday, there will be an open house with these activities: magic and animal balloons at 1 p.m.; games for children and adults at 2 p.m.; storytelling at 2:30 p.m.; crafts, horse rides, face painting, music, a cupcake walk and a sanctuary tour at 3 p.m.; a Scottish dance at 4 p.m., and a catered dinner at 6 p.m., followed by a Presby Pickers concert at 7 p.m. 

On Sunday, Sunday school begins at 9 a.m., followed at 9:30 a.m. by time to tour exhibits and visit with friends. Worship begins at 10 a.m. The celebration ends with a reception at 11 a.m. in Friendship Hall.
 
In advance of the weekend, the church is asking the community to submit any memorials or reflections of First Presbyterian Church of St. Albans. They are also asking people to submit recipes from days of yore. The reflections and recipes will be included in a commemorative anniversary booklet.
