The focus of this retreat will be on how a more literary understanding of the Bible can enrich the life of faith communities. Sarah Ruden, a poet, translator, essayist, and popularizer of Biblical linguistics, will be the presenter; a visiting research fellow at the University of Pennsylvania, she is currently completing a new translation of the Gospels for The Modern Library.
Christian Educators, Pastors, Commissioned Pastors, Authorized Lay Preachers, and spouses have been emailed information and are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity for learning and fellowship. Cost varies based on rooming preference: $120 for a single room, $110 for double occupancy, $90 for each additional participant from the same church, $200 for couples, and $80 for commuters.
