Here you will find information on the Presbytery’s Intergenerational Summer Mission Opportunity with West Virginia Ministry of Advocacy and Workcamps (WVMAW) Sunday, July 14 to Saturday, July 20 in Colcord, WV. This workcamp is for adults and youth who are currently in at least the 8th grade and are accompanied by a parent or grandparent.
The work to be done varies according to the skills of the group, but could include building ramps, repairing porches, flooring, rebuilding walls, and roofing, all under the direction of a Project Manager. In addition to working during the day, there will be opportunities for reflection, worship, and recreation. Participants will be housed at the manse of the First Presbyterian Church in Colcord. There is a limit of 20 people total.
The cost per person is $300, which all goes directly to WVMAW. The registration deadline is Thursday, May 2; registration forms and a deposit of $150 per person are due at this time. The remaining balance, plus a medical and liability form, will be due at a later date.
