Are you looking for an alternative gift this Advent Season? Then the Mission Committee has a few suggestions for you!

Substance Abuse Rehabilitation in Our Partner Presbytery

Kenya is roughly the size of the state of Texas, has a population nearly 10 times that of West Virginia and is facing a substance abuse crisis that we are all too familiar with in our own state. But currently there are no rehabilitation centers in Kenya to address this issue. Nyeri Presbytery is taking steps to correct this by establishing the first rehab center in the country. The Presbytery is seeking funds for facilities and staffing.

Presbyterian Border Ministries

Even though it is not in the headlines quite as much these days, there is still a border crisis along our country’s southern border. The 150,000 immigrants there have very uncertain futures either in this country or their home country. The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is part of an ecumenical endeavor to establish and cultivate relationships in order that “they may have life and have it abundantly” (John 10:10). Gifts of time, advocacy, or monetary donations will help further this effort. For more information, visit presbyterianborder.org.
