A number of people recently received a phishing email from Gmail accounts purporting to be the General Presbyter or the Stated Clerk. The fake account uses the correct series of words in the email address, but it is not an account from wvpresbytery.org. Please delete these emails and DO NOT SEND requested gift cards, money, or personal information.
The Presbytery of West Virginia staff will NEVER ask you for gift cards, money, or personal information, even cloaked in kind words. Check the sender’s email against the known email on the website to check whether it is a scam! If you have any questions, pleases reach out to one of the staff.
