Shannon Craigo-Snell, Professor of Theology at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary who grew up in the Teays Valley Presbyterian Church, will be the keynote presenter for this year’s Festival of Faith, which will be held on Saturday, April 6, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. at Charleston First Presbyterian Church. The theme for the day is “All the Light We CAN See.”

Shannon’s keynote will focus on “Understanding the Roots of Racism.” How can we live out our Christian commitments to love and justice in the current context of racial tensions? One important step is to remember how we got here. This address will recount the history of race and racism in the United States, creating space for new ways forward.

Additionally, Shannon will lead a workshop on “Christian Understandings of Evil.” How are we to make sense of the reality of evil and our faith in a loving God? This workshop provides a framework of how different Christian communities have addressed this question, and an opportunity to wrestle with it today.

Plus, there will be more than a dozen other workshops with topics ranging from mission to social justice to financial issues and more, as well as a time of worship and fellowship throughout the day.

The early registration deadline is March 15; lunch orders must also be placed by March 15. The cost for early registration is $20 for individuals and $30 for families, with an additional $15 per person for lunch. After March 15, only individual registration is available, and it increases to $30 per person. After April 1, no further registrations will be accepted until the morning of Saturday, April 6, when registration will take place before the event starts, from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
