Beginning in September, the Presbytery is offering the Presby Prep program. While it is the starting point for those going into the Authorized Lay Preacher/Commissioned Ruling Elder program, it would also be a wonderful way for people throughout the Presbytery to learn some basic information about our denomination. For those churches who do not have consistent pastoral leadership and thus do not receive officer training, this would be a very good way for Ruling Elders to become better informed.

Advanced registration is required, and most courses will have preparatory assignments to be completed before course day. Each course will last from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., including a lunch break (meals will not be provided), and be offered in three separate locations on different dates during the month.

Register by Aug. 20 for the whole program and the first course. Other single-course early registration dates are the first of the month preceding the month of the course (so Sept. 1 for the October course, etc.), with all registrations required no later than three weeks in advance of the course. Courses are $10 each or $50 for the entire Presby Prep program. Payment must be made in advance; sorry, no refunds.
