Do we really need to do an annual financial review?
The answer to this question is always YES! First because the Book of Order mandates that an annual review is done (G-3.0113). Second because it is a best practice for handling the finances of any organization. And it doesn’t matter how long a church has had the same treasurer. Here is a local horror story from a church of other denomination in Washington County, Ohio, as reported in the Marietta Times.

PENTECOST: April 22 to June 9
A gift to the Pentecost Offering helps the church encourage, develop, and support its young people, and also address the needs of at-risk children. 40% of the Pentecost offering can be retained by individual congregations wanting to make an impact in the lives of young people within their own community. The remaining 60% is used to support ministries of the Presbyterian Mission Agency.

CHRISTMAS JOY: Dec. 1 to Dec. 22
