On Sunday, October 7, Spring Creek Presbyterian Church at Renick, packed 500 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child, which will deliver them around Christmastime to children in foreign countries. Pastor Robert Lynn Randolph’s cousin, Nelson Randolph, has brought this ministry to Spring Creek for 8 years.

Nelson is able to purchase many items for pennies on the dollar and goes all over the country looking for supplies. He also goes to many churches, businesses and organizations that wish to help pack the shoeboxes. He brings everything needed to pack the shoeboxes and then transports them to distribution centers, where they are distributed to foreign countries. He also visits the areas to help with distribution.

Each year, he returns to Spring Creek and speaks to the congregation about his trips and the reaction of the children who receive these boxes. This year, he brought Neil Hahn with him to help.

It’s a fun day of fellowship that the church look forwards to each year.
