“The Church must teach, just as it must preach, or it will not be the Church.” These resounding words were written by James Smart more than 50 years ago, but the world is vastly different today. So how do we teach in ways that nurture vibrant, relevant, and life-changing faith? How do we teach in compelling ways both in-person and using virtual settings? Let’s expand our skills and our toolbox to meet today’s challenges for a teaching church.

This course will be led by Rev. Dr. Rebecca L. Davis, Associate Professor of Christian Education at Union Presbyterian Seminary’s Charlotte campus. Raised in Huntington, she is a graduate of Marshall University and was previously the Director of Christian Education at Enslow Park Presbyterian Church. Becky is a Minister of Word and Sacrament and a Certified Christian Educator in the PC(USA). She brings 25 years of congregational experience to her teaching. In 2018, she was named Educator of the Year by the Association of Presbyterian Church Educators.

Registration deadline is noon, Wednesday, April 21, 2021. Cost: $25, due with registration. Register online below.
