Mission Opportunities Related to the Presbytery of WV:

  • WVMAW– WVMAW (West Virginia Ministry of Advocacy and Work Camps) is a Christian ministry supported in part by the Presbyterian Church (USA) that offers the opportunity for discipleship by partnering with those in need whose lives have been devastated by natural disasters or by the disaster of poverty in areas of West Virginia.
  • Presbytery of WV Disaster Response Team – This is a group of volunteers who are trained to do assessments and pastoral care in the aftermath of disasters in WV.

  • Westminster Foundation– The Westminster Foundation is a not-for-profit organization charged with supporting Presbyterian Campus Ministry at state colleges and universities throughout West Virginia. We serve more than 30,000 students annually on the campuses of West Virginia University, Marshall University, West Liberty University, Fairmont State University, Pierpont Community and Technical College and Shepherd University by providing salaries or programming funds for campus ministries at these institutions. We also have a collaborative partnership with Davis & Elkins College, a Presbyterian-affiliated college in West Virginia.
  • Healthy Bodies Healthy Spirits – A network connecting West Virginians of faith with “how-to” resources to help them create healthier churches and communities.
  • PHEWA– Presbyterian Health, Education & Welfare Association is a voluntary membership organization. Its purpose is to provide resources for Presbyterians involved in social welfare and justice ministries. PHEWA has also worked, since its creation by General Assembly action in 1956, to make the church more responsive to the needs of the excluded and suffering. PHEWA is a ministry of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
